This is not going to be pretty, I can guarantee you.
I honestly don't know what happened. I started out the year all full of vim (vim? yup. it means "a lively or energetic spirit", not some sort of beverage, as I thought at one time. Though I probably was also full of beverage on New Year's Eve, chugging Coke to keep my sleep-starved body awake til midnight so I can be the only one in my family to go outside in the snow and bang a spoon on a pot for kicks. but I digress...) - anyways, full of vim and determined to get these four seemingly simple goals under my belt.
And now we're nearing the end, the holidays barrelling towards us with the tricks and the turkeys and the ho ho hos - and I'm not even close to nailing down these buggers! I may have even moved backwards on a few of them!
See for yourself - it's shameful, really...
Res. #1 - No Library Fines. Let's just say that the Library Police are hot on my trail. I'm pretty sure they've started circulating my photo because I've been getting some funny glances from the storytime lady lately (couldn't possibly be that my 2 yr. old was sporting a magic-marker-mustache last week). Why can't I just return things on time?!?! I'm starting to feel like this is some sort of illness. Maybe there's a support group I can join? The Library Abuse Must End Reach-out? LAMER? Could I be any lamer?
Res. #2 - Become a Morning Person. Ok I've successfully moved my "up and going" time back about 1/2 hour but the sun is still rising long before I am. Plus, most mornings I get up when the babies do and doze off again while snuggling them in front of PBS cartoons. Is it MY fault that my children are so cuddly and "Sid the Science Kid" is so snooze-arific?
Res. #3 - Write More Thank You Notes. I would like to pat myself on the back a little here because I have taken some steps in the right direction with this one. For instance, I purchased some super cute Thank You cards from Target and have them sitting on my nightstand. I also bought a book of stamps while at the post office the other day. I now feel totally prepared to make great strides on this goal. Soon. Real soon.
Res. #4 - Get Involved. Currently my evenings are consumed with packing, packing, PACKING and will soon consist of unpacking, unpacking, UNPACKING. However, I did spend a week on SuperMom Central blogging about ways to be more Earth Friendly as a family and also researched and recommended some great places to shop for kiddo clothes that donate a portion of their proceeds to charity. I'm spreadin' the word, right? I'm gonna count it. But seriously - Red Cross before the year is out. For reals.
So as you can see, I'm kinda failing with whole Resolution gig right now. This check-in has kicked my butt.
However, Gabby is officially potty trained!
Don't I get to turn that in for some sort of credit?

Is it even possible to change something like that? I am a night owl. And I don't think I could become a morning person under any circumstances :-)
You blog. You swapped. Isn't that involved? :-)
YAY! For potty training. That counts a more than something. I am coveting you on this one.
i think the fact that you are so fabulous counts for all four! nevermind these pesky check-ins, it's all about the journey anyway, right? and congrats on potty training! you will have to teach me your tricks for noah soon...
